Our Staff

Ella McCardle was appointed as Circuit Clerk of Ohio County on August 31, 2026. She brings more than 17 years of experience in the legal field and court administration to the position, along with a strong commitment to serving the residents of Ohio County with integrity and professionalism.

Before her appointment, Ella served for over two years as Administrative Assistant to Judge David J. Sims, supporting judicial operations and maintaining efficient case management within the court. Prior to that role, she spent eight years as a Deputy Clerk in the Ohio County Circuit Clerk’s Office, developing extensive knowledge of court procedures, records management, and public service. She began her career as a paralegal at McArdle Law Office, where she dedicated seven years to assisting attorneys, preparing legal documents, and supporting clients throughout the legal process.

Ella is devoted to promoting accuracy, accessibility, and transparency in the Circuit Clerk’s Office. She continues to focus on strengthening public trust, enhancing services, and supporting the effective operation of Ohio County’s judicial system.

Ella is married to Micah McCardle, and together they share a blended family of seven children and four granddaughters, with another granddaughter expected in November 2026. Family remains an important part of her life, and she is grateful for their support as she serves the community.
